Women's Entitlement

Respect for women’s dignity demands that the health of the whole woman be addressed. One element of her entitlement to competent medical care is that of Female Reproductive Health, meaning preservation or restoration of her ability to conceive and bear a child, what is called in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the obligation to provide "special care and assistance to motherhood". This means that all women should have access to competent obstetrical and gynaecological services, which include appropriate care of the child in the uterus and assistance to establish breast-feeding of the child after birth.

Diagnosis of Gynaecological Disorders

The Billings Ovulation Method teacher is able to instruct a woman to "think in hormonal patterns" which are faithfully reflected in the woman’s observations of cervical mucus at the vulva. Understanding these patterns offers the woman the possibility of early diagnosis and treatment of gynaecological disorders including infertility, which is of increasing concern all over the world.

Basic Infertile Pattern

The concept of the Basic Infertile Pattern of natural infertility before ovulation in the cycle, and the definition of post-ovulatory infertility by identifying the time of ovulation, complete an effective natural method of avoiding pregnancy. The recognition of the day of maximum fertility has become the primary management of apparent infertility.
